Light and dark are the most common duality in media. In Pokemon, darkness is represented by, well, the dark type, obviously. Light has various types to serve as an avatar here: electric, fire, fairy, maybe fighting, though that’s more neutral. Fire is one of the most poignant types and this will be acknowledged in the next event. This piece will go over the Pokemon GO Dark Flames event.
This Thursday, June 29, people will see an increase of Fire types and Dark type Pokemon in the overworld. Not only that, but Turtonator is debuting for the first time in Pokemon GO for the first time. Appearing with it, Mega Sableye will also be showing up in mega raids.
Lastly, players will also get an opportunity to catch Heatran from legendary raids. Heatran caught from these raids will know the charged move Magma Storm. Like any other legendary in GO, it’s worth to at least try getting. Other event encounters are shown in the picture below:

These are simply the overworld encounters. For trainers who want to learn more, the event is hyperlinked here.

As stated in the image, Dark Flames will be releasing a timed research event that will let people choose between the passionate light of flame and the cool shroud of black. Completing this research will result in several rewards such as EXP, premium battle passes, and encounters with event Pokemon.
Each path will either increase the attraction of Fire or Dark type. Players should pick the ones that suits them the best.
The Pokemon GO Dark Flames event seems to be an interesting one. It also does a lot right for the type of game GO is. The branch research keeps this from being the same as any stale event. It will be exciting to see what side players feel embodies them best.
