Pokémon GO Charmander Community Day Classic Announced

Publish Date: August 30, 2023

The Pokémon Community is seeing another divided period in the fandom. One of the future events being teased is the next Community Day Classic. This event celebrates classic legacy Pokémon such as the original 151. The next one after Squirtle is going to be Charmander. However, this piece will break down the controversy around the Pokémon GO Charmander Community Day Classic.

Fans in Blazing Outrage Over Charmander CDC

As Hidden Gems comes to a close, Niantic is launching the Charmander Community Classic as the first event of the new Adventures Abound season. Following a tweet or post on Twitter/X (why…) on September 2, fans were divided to learn that the next Community Day Classic would be Charmander.

This anger is not unheard of or invalid as Charmander has gotten 2 Community Day events. Understandably, as Charmander was given two events, it is normal to want something new. However, lots of players, especially newer ones, have missed out on these events and it is just as fair, if not more, to allow them a chance to get a shiny of their favorite Pokémon.

Charmander getting this much hype is not news in the main series either. With two megas, a gigantamax form, and a terastal event, it is the most loved of the Kanto starters. Whether this is a good or bad thing, however, is up to each and every fan.

Community Day Classic Details

As stated above, the Charmander Community Day Classic is coming on September 2. Below are all the details fans need to know for this day:

  • Event will run from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During this period, players can expect increased Charmander spawns and special bonuses like 3-hour Incense and Lures.
  • Opportunity to evolve Charmeleon into a Charizard that knows the Charged Attack Blast Burn, a Fire-type move with 110 power in both Trainer Battles and Gyms and Raids.

It’s important to note that these details are from a leak, and not an official announcement. However, most leaks are 90% accurate. As there was another event featuring an opportunity to get a Charizard with Blast Burn, this might validate the camp of players going “Next.”

Conclusion

The Charmander Community Day Classic event is coming to Pokémon GO in a few days. Whether it’s a good event for all or one with a low turnout, a few players at least should still enjoy it. Go out there, players, and get a beautiful black Charizard.
