Detective Pikachu Returns Release Date Revealed

There were many rumors swirling about a second Detective Pikachu game and it looks as though those ended up being right. During the latest Nintendo Direct, Detective Pikachu Returns was finally announced. With this fans will be wondering when, what essentially is, Detective Pikachu 2 will be coming out. Here is the official Detective Pikachu Returns Release Date.

The original Detective Pikachu game came out on the 3DS back in 2016. It was a bit of a surprise for a multitude of reasons. The main one being that no one even thought a game like that was not only possible but that it would be released. It would go on to be a smash hit.

Then three years later a movie was released with the same title. This one had Ryan Reynolds playing Pikachu though and it would be the first live-action Pokemon movie of its kind. It even has a respectable Rotten Tomatoes score.

Since then, players and fans of the series have been hoping for a second game. They now have their wish with Detective Pikachu Returns. It will see Detective Pikachu and Tim working together again to solve crimes with new and returning Pokemon like Mewtwo.

This game will be coming out on the Nintendo Switch and looks to be a bit more fleshed out and robust than its predecessor.

With that, the Detective Pikachu Returns Release Date will be October 6, 2023.

With the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC releasing likely as bookends to this game, the last half of 2023 should be a banger for Pokemon fans.
