Could Typhlosion be the Next Raid in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Samurott is already live and players are in full blast trying to take it down. Given that it’s directly after the Decidueye raid, it’s natural to wonder who will be the next boss and when? There could be a chance it could be a week or two after Decidueye. However, what is easier to predict is who it might be. This piece will go into why Typhlosion with a Ghost or Dark tera typing is the most likely to be the next raid boss in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The Starters From Legends Arceus are Being Honored

There is a strong possibility that Typhlosion could be the next boss after Samurott. The reason is that it would complete the trio of Legends Arceus starters that Rei and Akari got from Laventon. Not only that, but the bigger clue is in their tera typings.

If one remembers back to Decidueye, its tera typing was flying. Hisuian Decidueye’s typing was Grass/Fighting. Funnily enough, flying is super effective against fighting. This makes this particular Alolan Decidueye super effective against its Hisuian counterpart.

The trend continues with Samurott, who was the water option in Legends Arceus. Samurott’s tera typing for this raid is bug. Bug is super effective against Dark, which was its secondary typing in Legends.

This pattern suggests that after Charizard, Cinderace, Greninja, and Pikachu, Gamefreak is releasing all of the Legends Arceus starters with tera typings that make them super effective against their Hisuian Forms. As Typhlosion is the only one who has yet to be released, there is little reason to believe it wouldn’t be next.

And since Ghost and Dark are super effective against Ghost, it is highly likely that Typhlosion will have a type of Ghost or Dark. Though unconfirmed, the possibility is exciting.

Conclusion

With all this in mind, people will already have their favorite Hisuian starter(s) before the company releases the connectivity with Pokemon HOME. Again, this is merely fan speculation, however, with the subtle clues pointed out in this piece, it is a very probable choice. And hopefully, it is signaling the other Hisuian Pokemon as raid bosses as well. Let us hope that Typhlosion will be the raid boss that completes the trio in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
