Are there Fossil Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet?

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are coming out and with them a hoard of new Pokemon. While The Pokemon Company has been revealing some Pokemon, they have really not shown fans much. Most of the Pokemon are known due to leaks but there could be a few stragglers. Some fans really enjoy Fossil Pokemon and are wanting to know what they might be. Here is a look as to if there are any new Fossil Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet.

There have been Fossil Pokemon in every single Generation leading up to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet except for Pokemon Sun and Moon. That said, even in that Generation, players could get the Fossil Pokemon from Generations 4 and 5 or Diamond and Pearl and Black and White respectively.

Then in Sword and Shield, there were four Fossile Pokemon added. These could be combined by the different Fossils found in the game. This was certainly a brand new addition to the series and one that many hoped might be continued.

Unfortunately, the answer to whether there will be new Fossil Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet is a no. Oddly enough, none of the Fossil Pokemon from any generation will be in Scarlet and Violet. This feels intentional.

There will be Past Paradox Forms, these are Pokemon from the past that are more wild and primitive forms of Pokemon from earlier generations.

That said, this does make it feel like they may be a part of the rumored DLC coming to Scarlet and Violet. Could there be brand new Fossil Pokemon in the DLC or at least the old ones returning? This won’t be known for at least a few months after these games have come out and Pokemon starts likely revealing its plans for the DLC and next games.
