Players, Venusaur is the current Kanto starter raid boss. Blastoise is the second boss, with Charizard returning last. Some sites, like Game8, also have some predictions on what the sets for the bosses will be. This prediction piece will go over some of the 7 Star Blastoise Raid predictions and give some of what the writers at the Game Haus think the boss will be like.
Note: This is just speculation. The information will be updated when the raid goes live.
Most likely, this will be the build information for Blastoise:
Level: 100
Type: Water
Tera Type: Steel
Nature: Potentially, Blastoise will have a nature that raises its defense stat or special attack. There isn’t enough information right now to make a specific guess.
Ability: Rain Dish
Moves: Flash Cannon, Rain Dance, Surf, Hydro Pump
Extra moves would most likely be, according to Game8, Iron Defense and Ice Spinner. This is a likely set as Flash Cannon would give Blastoise a good stab move while Surf and Hydro Pump help to stave off Fire Pokémon. It is still also a good Pokemon to stave off Ground-type Pokémon.
The only thing that doesn’t seem likely is having two water moves. Surf would allow it to hit all four raid Pokémon. Ice Spinner or Ice Beam would be the most likely fourth main move as it also helps with grass Pokémon.
Clodsire
Clodsire, despite being part ground type, is a viable choice. Players want to specifically get one with the ability Water Absorb. That way, Surf won’t have any effect on it. Due to its tera steel typing, Earth Power could deal a good bit of damage. This should be used more as a support however to keep the timer from running out.
Clodsire’s poison moves would not affect Blastoise in any way in terms of reducing stats. A good set for Clodsire could be:
Earth Power
Recover
Iron Defense
Body Press
Players could train Clodsire in Special Defense and Special Attack. They can either run Clod defensively with Leftovers or use Metronome and Body Press to cheese Blastoise. Be sure to give it a plus Special Defense, minus Speed nature.
This pick is helpful for a variety of reasons. Strong and fast, Urshifu can deal super effective and critical hits with fighting-type damage and Surging Strikes to get 3 critical hits in a row. Effective moves for Urshifu would be the following:
Surging Strikes (for crit damage)
Bulk Up
Close Combat
Fire Punch
Using a shell bell would be a smart bet to make back the damage that Blastoise could doll out, however minor due to water resisting water. Other than that, same thing as with Venusaur, work with a screen setter and go to town.
These are the 7 Star Blastoise Raid predictions. As mentioned before, this is speculation found from sites such as Game8 along with counter predictions made by Game Haus staff writers. This article will be updated when the raid goes live, but if some of these predictions and suggestions end up being on point, it could help a lot of players.
Let’s anticipate the fight against Blastoise together.
