After 20 years Konami decided to surprise fans at the PlayStation showcase to bring gamers a Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake.
During the PlayStation Showcase, the new Metal Gear Solid 3 remake was announced however it will be going under a different title. The new remake will be titled Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. From the trailer shown at the presentation, things look promising. The trailer was CGI teaser segment having the camera go through a jungle landscape eventually landing on Snake queuing the title’s classic theme song.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater was originally released for PlayStation 2 in 2004. The title serves as the prequel to the original Metal Gear. Set in 1964, 31 years before the events of the original Metal Gear, the story centers on the FOX operative codenamed Naked Snake as he attempts to rescue Russian rocket scientist Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov, sabotage an experimental superweapon, and assassinate his defected former boss.
On top of the new Metal Gear Solid Δ, Konami will also be releasing a Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1. This collection will include Metal Gear Solid as well as the first three games. Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, and Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater. The collection is set to release in Fall 2023.
The Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. No release date was given for the release date of Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater.
