A surprising new Overwatch-styled game was announced by Disney and Marvel studios. Marvel Rivals will see the famous heroes battling it out similarly to Overwatch. The game will have new interesting features not seen in the genre and already has some interesting gameplay footage with the initial trailer. Now fans are going to want to know, what are the confirmed and rumored heroes for the Marvel Rivals Roster?

Below is a list of all of the confirmed heroes for the Marvel Rivals Roster. This will be updated as the game is released.
Currently there are no rumored heroes but there will be so make sure you check back frequently as this section will be updated.
As of writing this article, the Marvel Rivals Release Date is unknown.
We do have an Alpha test coming in May, 2024. With what was shown of the gameplay, Rivals is clearly deep into development. They have 18 heroes confirmed which you can read about in our Full Marvel Rivals Roster: Confirmed and Rumored article. Also what was shown were a few maps and some early graphics.
With the way things go this game will have a beta test likely sometime near the end of the summer of 2024 if everything goes well with Alpha testing. After that, it is all guesswork. Rivals could come out as early as Holiday Season 2024 or as late as a few years down the road if they end up having to redo parts of it or if the alpha and beta players are not enjoying the game.
The best guess is that Marvel Rivals will come out sometime in the middle of 2025.
As for what consoles Marvel Rivals be on, that is also unknown.
It is safe to assume that considering it is Disney and it is expected to be a major title as they find their way into competitive gaming that Rivals will be on PC and at least Xbox and PlayStation. Whether that is on Xbox One or PS4 or not is unclear. As more companies move away from building games for older gen consoles it seems unlikely.
Also, it will be worth watching for the Nintendo Switch. Overwatch 2 is on the Switch and it seems like Marvel Rivals would be perfect for it as well.
The Marvel Rivals gameplay will be very similar to Overwatch 2. Or more the original Overwatch. This is mainly in the sense that it will be a 6v6 game than a 5v5 one. All of the heroes will either be some form of DPS, tank or support.
The goal seems to be capturing different points and fighting to push different areas or objectives. This truly feels like the exact same genre that Overwatch is but with Marvel heroes. For some that will be perfect as Marvel has a huge fanbase. For others, it may not be enough to draw them away from Overwatch 2.
