What is the Madden 23 Release Date?

The Madden series has come down on some tough times in recent years. Fans have been disenchanted with what was once the darling franchise of sports video games. That being said, this will be the first game released since the passing of NFL Legends John Madden. Many may grab this year’s edition because of the fact. Because of that many will be wondering what the Madden 23 Release Date will be?

After a long run of players taking over the cover for Madden, John Madden is back on the front of the game bearing his name. This will likely be the last time for Madden as he sadly passed away on December 28, 2021. The Madden 23 cover will have an updated version of the first-ever Madden from 1988.

From 1988 until 2000, Madden graced the cover of his own game. It was in 2001 that the cover changed to players. From Eddie George to Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes, the Madden cover has been a center piece for players in the NFL. If they are on it, then they were or are the biggest name in football during that time.

There was also the Madden curse but that has seemingly subsided in recent years.

As for the Madden 23 Release Date, fans will be happy to know that it is coming out on August 19. This includes PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and PC. Surprisingly the game will not be out initially on the Nintendo Switch it would seem.
