Madden 21 Questionable Ratings: Los Angeles Rams

EA Sports’ Madden franchise has the daunting task of ranking all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with the initial rankings of players. So, The Game Haus will be analyzing the most questionable ratings for players on every NFL team.

Here are the most questionable Madden 21 ratings for the Los Angeles Rams.

Andrew Whitworth – 86

Even at age 38, Andrew Whitworth is still one of the best left tackles in the NFL. This past offseason the Rams were able to retain Whitworth on a three-year deal.

Whitworth has been a four-time Pro Bowler throughout his career. He has also been a three-time All-Pro. Whitworth was a two time First-Team All-Pro and one time Second-Team All-Pro.

After the fifth best Left Tackle Tyron Smith, who is ranked a 91, the next best left tackle is Whitworth at an 86 overall. However, there shouldn’t be as large of a drop off between Whitworth and the leagues elite left tackles. He is still considered one of the best left tackles in the league because of his high level of production.

At this point in his career, Whitworth is out of the “best left tackle in the league” conversation. However, he should still be recognized as one of the league’s best left tackles.

Adjusted Rating- 89

Tyler Higbee – 82

Tyler Higbee

Tyler Higbee can emerge as the next Superstar to come out of Sean McVay’s offense.

At times last season, Tyler Higbee looked like he can be in the same category as George Kittle, Zach Ertz and Travis Kelce. Realistically though he is in that Mark Andrews, Darren Waller, Hunter Henry (healthy) category.

Higbee finished with the sixth-most receiving yards by a tight end last season. He had 734 yards and three touchdowns. He had over 100 receiving yards in four of the last five games of the season.

Multiple tight ends including Jared Cook of the Saints, Greg Olsen of the Seahawks, Eric Ebron of the Steelers and Kyle Rudolph of the Vikings had worse seasons than Higbee. Yet all of them have better ratings than Higbee.

This coming season will be big for Higbee to prove if he should enter the elite conversation as far as tight ends go. However, his Madden rating should be closer to that territory than what it is now.

Adjusted Rating- 84

Taylor Rapp – 75

Taylor Rapp

Taylor Rapp had high expectations coming into his rookie season after being drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round. Many considered Rapp to be a borderline first-round prospect and to fall to the NFC Champions in the second round, many thought it was a great pick.

Rapp played as well as many though the could in his first season. In 15 games and 10 starts, Rapp had 62 tackles, eight passes defended, two interceptions, and one of those interceptions went back for six points. In year two Rapp is expected to be a full-time starter and show his true potential as a player.

However Rapp’s overall is low enough to consider the possibility of the team having a need at free safety. Rapp’s overall is lower than Detroit Lions Duron Harmon, New England Patriots Adrian Philips and Miami Dolphins Bobby McCain. All three of those players are considered solid starters or high-end backups. None of which have the ceiling that Rapp has.

Rapp could be a candidate to become the most improved player in 2020-21. If that is the case he could also have the most improved Madden 21 player rating.

Adjusted Rating – 79
