Madden 21 Questionable Ratings: Jacksonville Jaguars

Publish Date: July 28, 2020

EA Sports’ Madden franchise has the daunting task of ranking all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with the initial rankings of players. So, The Game Haus will be analyzing the most questionable ratings for players on every NFL team.

Here are the most questionable Madden 21 ratings for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Yannick Ngakoue – 83

Yannick Ngakoue is one of the most overlooked defensive ends in the league, and Madden 21 added fuel to that fire with a rating of 83.

He had four forced fumbles (one recovery), eight sacks, one interception and 41 combined tackles in only 15 games. Despite these impressive numbers, he did not even earn a Pro Bowl selection, which speaks to a larger under appreciation of his talent league-wide.

Ngakoue will only be 25 next season, his fifth year in the league. Considering he has never collected less than eight sacks in his career, there is no reason to suspect he will disappoint next year. NFL fans will have to wait until then to see if Madden and the league in general gives him his well-deserved props.

Adjusted Rating – 89

Josh Allen – 81

Another under appreciated defensive player on the Jaguars, Josh Allen, has already worked his way into TGH’s list of top 100 players in the league after his only his first year.

He played in all 16 games, yet started in only four. In spite of that, he racked up 10.5 sacks, 44 combined tackles and two forced fumbles. A massive 23 quarterback hits spells out his nose for getting into the backfield quickly, also.

Madden 21 rating him in the low 80s makes some sense, as he does not have a lot of experience, but it still feels a bit disrespectful due to his production. Some faith in the young player in the form of a higher rating would not have gone amiss, however.

Adjusted Rating – 87

Joe Schobert – 82

Continuing the trend of mis-ranked defensive players, Joe Schobert was supremely disrespected in Madden 21.

Schobert had a massive four interceptions at the linebacker position. Honestly, that alone should earn him better than an 82. On top of that, he forced two fumbles, sacked the quarterback twice and collected a massive 133 combined tackles. 89 of those 133 tackles were solo.

He started all 16 games and was a key piece of the Browns’ defense. Now that he is a Jaguar, he will likely be a legitimate leader on defense, especially since Jacksonville are going to be in rebuilding mode.

Schobert is simply more talented than Madden gave him credit for. Now watch him prove just that in 2020.

Adjusted Rating – 87
