The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the Madden 20 questionable ratings: New York Jets.
Jamal Adams (Photo by nypost.com)
Adams has played just two seasons in the NFL, but has already become one of, if not the best, safeties in the league. He had 115 total tackles, 3.5 sacks and an interception in 2018. Although he played really well, he was given just a 90 overall rating, which makes him the fifth-best safety in the game.
Earl Thomas is the highest-rated safety in the game at 95. He only played four games last season, but in 2017 he had 88 tackles, no tackles and one interception. At this point in their careers, Adams deserves to be rated higher than Thomas, which would make him the highest-rated safety in the game.
Adjusted Ratings- 96
Maye had a great rookie season in 2017, but was injured and only able to play in six games in 2018. He finished the season with 34 total tackles, two passes defended and one interception. For playing well in two separate seasons, Maye was given a 78 rating, which is too low.
Andrew Sendejo has similar circumstances to Maye, but was given a 79 rating. He played well in 2017, but only played in five games in 2018. Sendejo had just 27 tackles and one pass defended. Maye should be rated higher given this information.
Adjusted Rating- 80
Chris Herndon (Photo by nypost.com)
The Jets have a good thing going for them with a young quarterback and young tight end. Herndon had 39 receptions for 502 yards and four touchdowns in 2018. Madden rated him pretty low for his efforts at a 76 overall.
Herndon has the same rating as Seth Devalve of the Cleveland Browns. Devalve caught five passes for 74 yards and one touchdown in 2018. Herndon should not be rated the same as a player who produced so much less than he did.
Adjusted Rating- 78
Jenkins had a solid 2018 campaign with 35 total tackles and seven sacks. He is rated way lower than other players who also had seven sacks though, which is a problem. Madden gave him a 75 rating, which is a little too low given his play last season.
His own teammate, Henry Anderson, had seven sacks in 2018 and was given a 789rating by Madden. Both players should be rated similarly based off of their play last season.
Adjusted Rating- 79
