Madden 20 Questionable Ratings: New York Giants

Publish Date: July 24, 2019

The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the  Madden 20 questionable ratings: New York Giants.

Will Hernandez- 77

Hernandez was selected by the Giants in the 2018 NFL Draft and had a good rookie season for the team. He did a decent job of both protecting Eli Manning and clearing the way for Saquan Barkley to have a successful season. Madden gave him a 77 rating heading into his second season in the NFL.

Frank Ragnow was also a rookie last year and played well for the Detroit Lions at guard. Hernandez had as good of a season, if not better than Ragnow. Ragnow though, received a 79 rating for his play, while Hernandez got just a 77.

Adjusted Rating- 79

Eli Manning- 72

While the jokes about Manning and the calling for a replacement have been rampant, he was rated too low in Madden 20. They gave him a 72 rating, which is lower than too many other players. This all comes after a season in which he threw for 4,299 yards, 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on 66 percent completion.

He is rated lower than Case Keenum, who was rated at a 73. Keenum threw for 3,890 yards, 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions on 62.3 percent completion. With every single stat being worse than Manning’s, Keenum shouldn’t be rated higher.

Adjusted Rating- 74

Lorenzo Carter- 71

The Giants have a versatile player in Carter, who played well when he got opportunities in 2018. He had four sacks, four passes defended and 43 tackles. Carter played in 15 games, but started just two. Madden gave him a rating of 71.

Shane Ray had just one sack for the Denver Broncos last season, but was given a rating of 73. It makes no sense to rate Ray higher than Carter based off of last season. Carter deserves a small ratings boost.

Adjusted Rating- 74

Alec Ogletree- 70

Ogletree was traded to the Giants before the 2018 season and had a solid year in New York. The veteran had 93 total tackles, five interceptions and eight passes defended. Two of his interceptions were returned for touchdowns. Madden gave him just a 70 overall rating.

Darron Lee had 74 total tackles in 12 games for the New York Jets. He had five passes defended and three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Clearly, Ogletree put up better numbers and deserves to be rated better than Lee’s 73.

Adjusted Rating- 74
