Kingdom Hearts Missing Link has Controller Support

Publish Date: October 30, 2023

Not everyone is a fan of touch screen controls. And considering Kingdom Hearts has been a staple on console releases, the community was definitely concerned with the latest entry to the franchise releasing on mobile. But there is some great news. According to the official Kingdom Hearts Missing Link website, the game will be compatible with controllers.

This news wasn’t stated in the official trailer for the game, but instead revealed on the Closed Beta information on their official site. As a response to a question regarding gamepad support, they stated:

“The Closed Beta Test version is compatible with the following controllers (gamepads). Please note that this may be subject to change for the live-version of the game at launch. – [PS4] wireless controller (DUALSHOCK 4) – [PS5] DualSense wireless controller – Xbox wireless controller.”

Here is a screenshot of the official statement.

Of course, players looking to play with just their phones should be perfectly fine to do so. Kingdom Hearts Missing Link is a mobile game, after all. But for console players hesitant to give the game any attention due to the lack of actual buttons, this should be great news.

The Closed Beta will also support multiplayer up to three players. But according to the site, “you can form a party of up to 3 players within a close proximity from each other in the Closed Beta Test.” In other words, think of the multiplayer pretty much as a local play, with lack of long distance multiplayer. It’s unclear whether this will change upon the official release.

There are still many questions regarding the game. It’s stated to be a GPS based action RPG — but it also states players don’t have to step outside. So what will this look like?
