After nearly a decade, Prison Architect is getting a brand new game in the series. This time your wardens, cops and most importantly, inmates, are all in 3D and ready to make you want to pull your hair out. The highly anticipated sequel from Paradox Interactive gives you the keys to manage your own prison but this time with new systems and graphics. Now fans are going to wonder, will Prison Architect 2 be on Xbox Game Pass?

Will Prison Architect 2 be on Xbox Game Pass?

While Prison Architect 2 will be on Xbox on release, it will not be on Xbox Game Pass.

For many, this may be confusing but not all games available to buy on Xbox are available on Game Pass. This is especially true for simulation and strategy games. It will be available on Steam, Xbox Series X and S and PlayStation 5 on day 1.

The Prison Architect 2 Release Date is No Longer Behind Bars

The Prison Architect 2 Release Date will be on May 7, 2024.

This comes after the game was initially slated to be released on March 26, 2024. It is definitely sad but game releases getting pushed back is not a major surprise anymore. Mainly because it feels like they are largely rushed and almost never complete upon release. For strategy games, incomplete or buggy games can lead to horrible sales to the point where the reviews completely kill the game upon arrival.

Paradox decided not to risk it and take a few more weeks to finalize everything and make sure it is ready for release.

Prison Architect 2 Gameplay

Similar to the original game, Prison Architect 2’s gameplay will focus on building out and managing a prison. It sees players making sure there are enough cells, food and activities for the inmates to do.

While you are doing this, you also have to balance the delicate relationship between the prisoners and guards within the prison. Otherwise, you will be at risk of having prisoners escaping or starting riots. For a game that looks very innocent and maybe even cute in its 3D format, this game has a lot of layers to it both as a game and commentary to an interesting system.
