The brand new entry to the Lego Star Wars franchise releases on a whole bunch of platforms. Promising a new generation of Lego Gaming, The Skywalker Saga looks very promising. Players looking to purchase the game may be wondering what multiplayer features the game supports. Perhaps it’s their first game entry into the Lego gaming franchise. Or perhaps they’re hoping to reminisce older times. To help inform such players, here is information regarding Lego Star Wars the Skywalker Saga multiplayer.

The Lego games have always been a great medium for couch co-op. PS2 and GameCube era gamers know this intimately well. Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga is no different in regards to multiplayer, supporting the same signature couch co-op action. But it would be better news if it was at least a bit different. Unfortunately, as of the date this article was published, online multiplayer remains unannounced.
If Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga follows the trend of the previous Lego games, online play will not be a thing. Outside of a few exceptions, Lego Games rarely support online play. And by correlation, this means Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga cross play will also be unavailable. This diminishes the probability of playing with old time friends, reminiscing the good ol’days.
The initial game of the franchise released in 2005. Lego Star Wars became a connecting point of a generation of now fully grown adults. From kids playing PS2s in their parents place, to working jobs and living “real life.” Considering the current state of the world, it’s truly unfortunate that no online play has been officially announced.
What could have been an amazing opportunity to relive memories with distant friends, displaced by life responsibilities… If developers don’t announce news regarding online play, it’ll truly be a missed opportunity.
