Is Kirby and the Forgotten Land Multiplayer Online?

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Multiplayer online

The newest addition to the Kirby franchise looks amazing. With brand new 3d visuals, vibrant colors, and a soundtrack that doesn’t miss, Kirby and the Forgotten Land will surely provide loads of fun. But some players looking to play may want the co-op experience. After all, playing games with friends is almost always more fun than playing alone. This then begs the question, Is Kirby and the Forgotten Land Multiplayer Online?

Multiplayer Overview

Judging from the Switch Online store, the short answer to this question is no. Kirby and the Forgotten Land is multiplayer. But this doesn’t necessarily mean it’s online multiplayer. The game supports 1-2 players in couch co-op, and nothing more. In other words, players hoping to team up with remote friends will find themselves unable to do so. For those in close proximity, the game allows an extra player to join in on the festivities.

Since the game hasn’t officially released quite yet, it’s hard to say how good the cooperative adventure will be. Kirby games typically support their cooperative play quite well. There will likely be two player mini games, unique interactions within the game, and perhaps even a boss fight mode, where an extra ally could make a huge difference.

In Conclusion

Honestly, the lack of Kirby and the Forgotten Land Multiplayer Online is quite unfortunate. Online multiplayer has truly become a norm in the industry in recent years. And the lack of such a function definitely disappoints, especially considering the state of the world. But at least the game has a multiplayer feature! Kirby and the Forgotten Lands Multiplayer remains purely couch cooperative, allowing the owner of the game to bring only a single addition friend on their journey.
