It has been a long time coming but fans will finally be getting their chance to change Civ 7 for the better. No, this does not mean they have gotten the devs to change as much but the modders. Here is how you can Download Mods in Civ 7.
The ability to more easily Download Mods in Civ 7 comes with Update 1.2.2, which is a big patch in and of itself. There are two different ways to download mods. One is a little simpler than the other. Also, this is only for PC players; downloading mods for consoles is much more complicated and many mods are not made to work with them.
With this Update, you can finally use the Steam workshop. Here are the basic instructions.
Note: There are certain mods that may ask you to change the game files. As more of the game files become available, many of these mods will work without the need for this step. That being said, there will normally be instructions in these mods to help you.

There are a few other websites that you can use to download Mods.
These are generally much more complicated. See that note above? Almost all of these places will require you to download and change the files. With the addition of the Steam Workshop support though, many of the Mods that you can find on these other websites will find their way over to Steam.
The last thing to keep in mind with Mods is that some may interfere with others. This will lead to your save files getting corrupted or your game not working. If this happens, try turning any mods you have off and things should go back to normal.
