To even begin the butchering process, players must get their hands on a meat cleaver. The schematics for the cleaver can be unlocked at technology level 12. Once unlocked, the craft will require 5 Ingots, 20 Wood, and 5 Stone. Ingots can be forged with a Primitive Furnace using ore. Once the meat cleaver has been crafted, equip the weapon. Have the Pal be butchered in the active party, NOT wandering around the base. Summon the Pal, and the option to pet it should be replaced with butcher. One censored scene later, and the Pal is now dead, but food and resources will be in its place.
