In two weeks’ time, GTA VI will finally be released, and gamers can venture off the state of Leonida and experience one of the most anticipated releases in recent years. With the return to Vice City said to include high-quality environments and improved graphics, GTA 6 will take up a lot of storage space on consoles at launch. But exactly how much storage does GTA 6 take up on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S? Here’s the full breakdown of how much storage Xbox and PlayStation users should expect to free up before GTA 6 launches on November 19 and pre-loading begins on November 10.
Officially confirmed on the PlayStation Blog, Grand Theft Auto VI will require up to 212 GB of storage on consoles at launch. For PlayStation users, thier standard PS5 will have 825GB of usable storage. Xbox Series S users have 512GB of usable storage, while the Xbox Series X/S has 1 TB. Unless GTA 6 is going to be the only game on players’ consoles, it’s only reasonable that they will have to delete some older titles to make space for this anticipated title. The Pre-load downloads alone equate to one-third of an 825GB PS5’s usable storage. For Xbox Series S users, this game will take up over half of the 512GB model’s usable storage; for Xbox Series X/S users, it will take up a similar amount, but with a bit more breathing room.

Our only clue of a release window comes from a statement from Twitch CEO Dan Clancy in an interview, who said the platform expects an even bigger surge the following year, when Rockstar launches multiplayer.
