How much does Multiversus Cost?

Publish Date: May 16, 2022

After many different leaks, Multiversus was announced and now the trailer has confirmed what many thought. This game is the Warner Bros version of Smash Brothers. The trailer showed off the initial roster in a fun reveal. Many will be looking to play the game and get into the alpha and beta tests. Once those are over though, people will be wondering, how much does Multiversus Cost?

Just a year ago Nickelodeon released their own fighter. It showcased characters from their biggest franchises. This was a big draw for the game as fans had always wanted to fight with characters like Aang from Avatar, Spongebob and so many more. The game was a good fighter but missed some of the mainline appeal due to many not feeling like it was complete.

Once Multiverus was announced, many were skeptical but yet again it hosts some of the biggest characters ever. Steven Universe to Bugs Bunny will battle with the likes Batman and Superman. The unique aspect of this game is that it will be 2v2 instead of 1v1. While players can 1v1 they won’t be able to play just a single character. It will be all about comboing and finding the best combination of characters.

It will be interesting to see how fully fleshed out this game is. As mentioned above the Nickelodeon version had the fighting down but the rest was not great. Riot Games are also releasing their Project L here in the next few years. And it feels like the Next Super Smash Brothers is already in development.

If Multiversus can help to fill the void from new Super Smash Brothers content then it could really take hold. If not then it may just end being a novel experience. The one great thing it has going for it is that the Multiversus cost will be free to play on launch and cross-play.
