After going dark over the holidays and to start the year, the Civ 7 team is back with a bang. One of the more beloved leaders from previous games, Gilgamesh, has returned. Here is a look at Gilgamesh in Civ 7.

Unique Ability:

Once Mortal, Twice Divine: Gain War Support when you have exactly one Ally. When you defeat an enemy Unit, gain Influence equal to a set percentage of its Combat Strength. All basic Endeavors are unlocked; Endeavors with Allies don’t count against the limit of having one Endeavor of a given type active at a time. Allies can support your Endeavors for free.

Agenda

Ally of Enkidu: Increase Relationship by a Medium Amount with leaders who have started or supported the most Endeavors. Decrease Relationship by a Small Amount with leaders in Alliances with others.

Notice we did not make friend plural. This will be a very interesting leader to play with because keeping only one Ally will be a delicate balance. Will you try to shift between different powers on the map? Or maybe, you will be ride or die with the first Ally you make.

Either way, you and your bestie will be able to go into battle ready to strengthen one another.

If you meet Gilgamesh, he will likely be a leader you will want to bond with. It feels like his playstyle will be unique, as everyone wants to be friends with him, unless they aren’t. But it will make the duo extremely strong and allow for Gilgamesh to play almost as a support would in an RPG.
