It’s been a long time coming, but Final Fantasy XIV is finally coming to Xbox Series X|S platforms. It has already been previously announced that the title was planned to come to Xbox consoles in the future. This time, fans of the hit and critically acclaimed MMO RPG finally have a release date for the Open Beta set to launch on Xbox. The game itself is set to fully release in Spring 2024 on Xbox Series X|S platforms.
Coming from the official Final Fantasy XIV Twitter account, the team announced that the open beta test for the Xbox Series X|S versions of the MMO will take place between January and February of 2024. There is currently speculation on whether the beta will be live during this period, or if a certain date will be given in this timeframe. For now, this information will have to suffice for the player base.
When Final Fantasy XIV does launch in Spring 2024, Xbox players will have access to the base game and all of the expansions in the game. Not only that, but the title will feature cross-play support, allowing all players to enjoy the title together. Xbox players have a lot to look forward to in terms of content in Final Fantasy XIV Online. Another speculation that’s being thrown around is whether a subscription is needed in order to play. It’s needed to play on other platforms so there have been some rumors of a subscription being provided through Xbox Game Pass. However, that’s just a rumor as there has been no official announcement made.
