STREET FIGHTER 6’s Brilliant New Features

Publish Date: July 21, 2022

At Sony’s most recent PlayStation State of Play presentation, Capcom revealed a host of new features to look forward to in Street Fighter 6.

Among the most recent announcements is the addition of an emote mechanic for the prematch lobby. Players have a new way to get inside their opponents’ heads with Street Fighter 6’s new “Game Face” feature.

Smack talk and bravado are often part of the pre-match ritual, and Street Fighter 6’s “Game Face” feature delivers just that.

In the wake of the impressive reveal of Street Fighter 6, more details regarding the game’s features and characters have emerged. In Street Fighter 6, there will be a new “Drive” system that will allow for more experimentation with fighting styles, as well as revised “Classic” and “Modern” controls.

The game will feature new characters such as Juri, Ed, and Rashid, according to recent leaks that Capcom has acknowledged. Fans eager to see more of the game after its reveal have received regular snippets of gameplay from Capcom on social media.

Game Face

One of the more substantive bits of gameplay comes from the official Street Fighter Twitter account, which illustrates how players can adjust the expression of their fighters on the pre-match screen using directional buttons.

This new feature is called “Game Face”. The players can watch Luke and Ryu scowl, smile, and act smug toward each other before the fight.

Additionally, players will see an early glimpse of Street Fighter 6’s character selection screen, followed by a WWE-style walkout as the match begins. There are many eagle-eyed fans in the comments section who seem to appreciate this minor detail.

The simplified control scheme in Street Fighter 6

Modern control schemes allow for simplified inputs when it comes to Special Moves and Super Arts. Therefore, you will spend less time messing around with timing and finicky combos, and more time blasting fireballs at your opponents.

Fans of the original series probably won’t bother with it, but if you’re intimidated by the genre or have accessibility barriers that prevent you from using rapid-fire, multi-button combos, it’s a nice option to have.

As part of the SGF demo, players could play one-on-one matches against either a second player or an opponent controlled by the CPU, whose difficulty could be tweaked according to the level of difficulty that they preferred, with five being the highest rating.

Although Street Fighter 6 still has a long way to go before launch, it appears that Capcom is listening to the early feedback from fans. From here to release, a lot could change, though Street Fighter 6’s “Game Face” feature appears to be proving popular with fans. These additional features can help continue the franchise’s success.

The Street Fighter series is one of the most popular and famous fighting game over the last few decades.

The popularity of this franchise also reach the interest of NFT-collectors and it even reached the online gambling world. The leading software provider NetEnt released Street Fighter II in 2020.
