New DLC Teams and Season Two for KOFXV were revealed at EVO 2022 SNK Panel, including the release date for Team Awakened Orochi on Aug 8.
While pools were underway SNK, a panel full of news for King of Fighters XV, and other SNK titles were up on the main stage at Mandalay Bay.
The first announcement was the first portion of Team Pass Two for King of Fighters XV. The team already had a reveal at an earlier date, Team Awakened Orochi is going to release on Aug. 8. The team consists of Orochi versions of Yashiro Nanakase, Shermie, and Chris. Characters who are already in the base roster, under the name Team C.Y.S.
However, the characters each have a different playstyle from their base versions. The Orochi versions of the characters were also in previous iterations of King Of Fighters. Originally with the design of being mirrors of the heroes, Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, and Goro Daimon.
Alongside the different playstyle comes new outfits, and players will have the option to use their default outfits. The alternate costumes will be free and a part of the DLC.
Team Awakened Orochi will be the third DLC team and a part of team pass two. Team pass one brought back characters such as Rock Howard, B. Jenet, and Gato from Garou: Mark of the Wolves. As well as Team South Town, which returns fan-favorite characters Geese Howard, Billy Kane, and Ryuji Yamazaki.
Individually, team Awakened Orochi will be $15.99 and $29.99 if they purchase the team pass. The second team a part of the second pass is Team Samurai. Crossing over from SNK’s Samurai Showdown are characters Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Darli Dagger. SNK plans to release Team Samurai in Autumn, 2022.
Finally, SNK plans to continue supporting The King of Fighters XV with a new season for 2023. The confirmation of characters Shingo Yabuki and Kim Kaphwan as the first two characters was also during the panel. Both characters are returning characters, Kim specifically being a mainstay who was mysteriously missing from the base roster. Both characters seem to be individuals instead of part of a team.
