DNF Duel Locked Character: How to Unlock

Publish Date: July 11, 2022

DNF Duel launches with 16 playable characters, however one character is locked at the start. The character locked is the Lost Warrior. He is the character players will face at the end of every character’s story mode and arcade mode. Here is how to unlock DNF Duel Locked Character, Lost Warrior.

Lost Warrior is the game’s boss character. However, he is playable online and offline with everything intact from his boss fight.

As a boss character, he has a playstyle unlike the majority of other characters, while characters with range exist. Lost Warrior’s main gimmick is having a full-screen presence, his movement includes teleporting with long-range attacks with high damage. However, his biggest disadvantage is his normal attacks are some of the slowest in the game. Allowing players to counter his attacks if they learn his moves.

How To Unlock Lost Warrior

In order to use Lost Warrior a character’s story mode must be completed and defeat Lost Warrior at the end. Every character goes through 9 chapters in their story mode. There is no requirement to beat it with any specific character or multiple times.

It doesn’t take long to get through the story mode, however, it is to be noted that cutscenes aren’t skippable. Players can skip through pieces of dialogue or have them autoplay in order to get through them quicker. Once completed, Lost Warrior will be playable for offline and online and modes.

Completing every character’s story mode doesn’t unlock any new characters, only extra content such as additions to the gallery. Gallery includes artwork, music, and additions to the player’s online profile.

Despite Lost Warrior being a boss character, he is playable offline and online against other players. Although it’s too early to decide whether or not Lost Warrior is too powerful to be usable at tournaments.

Overpowered?

While it’s up for debate concerning his powerful moveset as a boss and unique movement if he is too powerful. It’s too early to say. However, his biggest weakness remains his slow normal moves, with 10 frames of recovery. The average frames of normal moves are five frames per animation in DNF Duel.

The community behind the game will determine if the character is top tier. Whether it’s enough to ban him from tournament play or is an average character with faults.

Even players who have tried to create a tier list aren’t sure whether he’s a good character or not. It’s common for new fighting games to not have an accurate tier list until months to years later.  Then considering patches in the future it’ll be a while until there is a tier list players will agree on.

While DNF Duel won’t have as much presence at EVO as it’s not in the list of side tournaments. However, the first major annual tournament to feature DNF Duel will be CEOtaku. The event will take place in Fla. from Sept. 23-25.
