Everything We Know About the New Fable in 2026

It has been nearly 16 years since the last Fable graced our gaming consoles. For many of us, we thought there may never be another one. Luckily, Microsoft has continued its work and now a New Fable is closer than ever. Here is what we know about the New Fable expected in 2026.

The New Fable will hopefully be released in 2026.

The latest Xbox Developer Direct gave us a timeframe for the New Fable Release Date.

They said this game would release sometime in Autumn 2026. Autumn in the United States is generally considered to be sometime between September and November. With the dreaded release of GTA in November, Fable will most likely release sometime in September or October.

This is probably the reason why they gave a season instead of an actual release date. That being said, with the way games have been pushed back, there is always a chance Fable could as well. We are not claiming that this will happen, but just keep it in the back of your mind.

Everything Else We Know

There is no doubt that there is going to be a lot more to this version of Fable.

Fable will send us back to the same world but a much more in-depth and more enhanced version of Albion. The main towns have been upgraded in terms of size, scale and graphics. Even the Hero’s Guild from the original game will be making its way back into this version.

Along with that, we saw some of the combat for the first time. It looks not only modern but like it could bring a lot of what fans enjoyed about previous Fable games.

Below is what else we were told about the new Fable by Microsoft.

• Confirmed to be an open-world action RPG.
• Start as a child and your character is the first hero in Albion in a generation.
• A mysterious stranger turns your family into stone and you have to find out why.
• You can go where you want from the start.
• Bowerstone is confirmed to be back, along with the Hero’s Guild.
• Bloodstone is also back.
• Deep character customization.
• First look at combat as well.
• You can mess with people, buy a house, romance, have kids and so much more is all back.
• Over 1,000 people will have their own lives in the game.
• Reputation is also back. SO IS CHICKEN CHASER!
• Confirmed for Xbox, PlayStation and PC in Autumn 2026.
