Civ 7 Update 1.2.2 now live featuring huge maps, mods, and more

The highly anticipated Civ 7 update 1.2.2 has just hit live servers, bringing a load of new sandbox-focused functionality and balance changes. Here’s what to expect in the full update, which is playable now for all players, unless you are on the Nintendo Switch.

Civ 7 Update 1.2.2 Major Additions

There are a few marquee additions in the Civ 7 Update 1.2.2 patch, which we thought we would highlight here. For players who have stepped away momentarily and want to get back into Civ 7 after the update, here are the main points of change.

• Large and Huge maps
• Heavily revamped Town specializations
• Steam Workshop (mods)
• Overhaul to Treasure Fleets (now Treasure Convoys)
• Heavily increased Advanced Gameplay Options (AI difficulty sliders, Crisis picker, Legacy Paths turned on and off, and more)
• Ability to bypass Civ unlocks and play as whatever Civ you would like in any Age
