Still, she hasn’t taken over the meta. That might be due to timing. Her launch came right before major playoff qualifiers, so most pro teams were unlikely to gamble on her. Yet, as players test her in scrims and patch tweaks roll in, she’s likely to grow into a staple for teams looking to escape predictable picks.
Kled’s rework in mid-2025 didn’t just update numbers; it changed how he fits into the game. He moved from a dive-heavy, risky top laner to a bruiser with real staying power. The changes allow more stable laning, new build paths, and even the option to jungle. These adjustments matter because they open space in team comps where he previously didn’t belong.
Competitive LoL players have started testing him again, especially in regions that favor early-game control. While he’s not a top-three pick by any means, his reappearance alone says a lot. He’s gone from irrelevant to viable, and that alone makes him one of this year’s more interesting comeback stories.
Not every new champion or rework instantly rewrites how games are played. Most start slow. Players try them in solo queue, then scrims, then maybe sneak them into best-of-ones. It’s usually the teams with nothing to lose or coaching staffs that lean into off-meta prep who take the first plunge. Still, disruption tends to build gradually, not through one patch or one flashy reveal, but through layering changes and creative team play.
Sometimes, it isn’t even about how strong the champion is. It’s about how well their abilities match with current item builds, jungle control, or map pressure. Riot’s patch schedule encourages frequent evaluation, so something ignored in one split might suddenly make sense the next.
Yunara and Kled represent two sides of the same opportunity. One is brand-new, designed to bring something fresh. The other is a comeback story made possible through careful rebalancing. Both have found spots in certain team comps, but neither has fully taken over yet.
That might be the point. The most dangerous champions aren’t always the flashiest ones, they’re the ones people figure out too late.
