He sings songs of merriment and joy. He gives you the hero nothing but praise. He tells the tale of your heroic battles and foes you’ve slayed. He also wants to dig around your eyeball. If you’ve come across Volo during your journey in Baldur’s Gate he can prove to be an odd fellow. His Bardic tales may or may not be over-exaggerated, but at least he’s passionate. Another thing he’s passionate about is trying to help players remove the parasite from their eye. Knowing Volo’s personality most are hesitant to take him up on his offer. So should you let Volo take your eye in Baldur’s Gate 3?

If you decide to let Volo remove the parasite from your eye, the procedure is a bit messy. Volo tries to use an icepick to dig around in there, but it’s no use. The worm is able to outmaneuver him leaving you in agony. Volo doesn’t give up as he jams the pick further into your skull. Unfortunately, this makes things worse as Volo plucks out your eye. Congratulations, you now only have one eye, for the moment at least.
So should you let Volo take your eye in Baldur’s Gate 3? Yes but only if you don’t care about your character’s appearance. Volo gives you a replacement eye that allows players to see any enemy that’s invisible when they’re in range. Pretty neat tradeoff despite what it took to get there. It does affect your character’s appearance as you do have a new eye color, but if it’s worth it then stab away.
