Baldur’s Gate 3 – Community Update 26

Larian Studios, the developers of Baldur’s Gate 3, attended the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) Game Awards 2024. They took home several awards including, narrative, music, performer in a supporting role, the publicly voted player’s choice award, and best game. 

This now gives Baldur’s Gate 3 its fifth major award since its launch last August. This makes Baldur’s Gate 3 the first game in history to win all Game of the Year Awards across all major awards shows. 

However, Larian is not done with the game, as they recently announced that they are working on patch 7. Without spoiling too much, it will contain new, evil, and dark conclusions to sinister playthroughs should players decide to follow that route. 

New cinematic cutscenes will be animated with music composed by their original composer Borislav Slavov.

Patch 7 will address bugs that players have encountered including some narrator lines disappearing between the Dark Urge and Gortash, and companion-related bugs relating to Jaheira and Wyll. 

Patch 7 will also let creatives have fun. Larian will bring their official modding tools allowing for changes to visual, audio, and mechanical aspects. After this patch, they will continue to maintain the game by providing bug fixes. They are working on a photo mode and crossplay between PC and consoles. 

Lastly, for PC players only, there will be a closed beta in which some players can see the bug fixes, new content, and whatever else is included. Players can read the community update on their Steam page. Be warned of some potential spoilers should fans want to keep everything unspoiled about these new images and cutscenes.
