There is no doubt that nostalgia will drive a lot of players who have been playing this or its 2001 or 2003 version for the past couple of decades. There may be even new and younger players who will get involved.
But it is the promise or the hints that are leading even the most skeptical fans to believe more is coming. Not just the rereleases or remakes but a brand new game in this style. At least that is what everyone is hoping for. If they are going to have professional players as they have in the past there is a lot of paperwork that needs to be done with that so there may be a wait.
There is no doubt though, for many, that this wait will be well worth it.
