One of the most popular franchises to ever come out in gaming is Assassins Creed. Starting in the early 2000’s the series focused on a character who could travel back in time as one of their ancestors. While this was an interesting premise by itself, the ancestors were also a part of a long line of assassins. The success of the game from its ability to place itself in historical moments in a fun and interesting way. Well, the series continues on and there are leaks for a new game codenamed Assassins Creed Jade. Here is the latest on the potential new addition to the long-running series.

As Assassins Creed starts to go all over the world in terms of locations, one that has been noticeably absent is China. With the Jade codename, many assumed that this would be the first time that the series would make its way to one of the biggest countries in the world. Sure enough, with the leaks, this was all but confirmed.
In a leak on Reddit, fans were able to see a video of a character running along The Great Wall of China. During this time, the character is also helping to defend the wall from an attack. This is a very interesting sequence and one that could easily be early on in the game.
What this does is set up the time period in terms of it likely being more in the past than closer to the present. Specifically, likely during one of the early major dynasties of the Chinese Empire. One of the hardest parts to figure out though is exactly during which dynasty. With the wall getting its start in being built as early as the 7th Century BCE/BC and the major better-known sections coming during the Ming Dynasty, it will be interesting to see where exactly they want to go with this game.
The other major aspect that was shown in this clip is that the game will likely be on mobile. Whether it will be mobile-exclusive or not is not yet known. That being said, many are assuming that this will be the first main Assassins Creed game to be made for mobile.
