Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections Game Modes
History Mode
- Just like the standard Story Mode from past installments, History Mode serves as a feature where players can relive all of the major story events that happened in the Naruto series. These moments can range from the Chunin Exams to the Fourth Great Ninja War.
Special Story Mode
- An original story designed exclusively for the game, centering on Boruto along with two new original characters. The plot itself takes place during the events of BORUTO when the Ninja World is at peace again with Naruto as Hokage. Boruto discovers a popular online game, “Ninja Heroes,” and meets Nanashi, a navigator from the game. Although their relationship was that of player and navigator, they gradually developed a special bond. Meanwhile, something unusual in the real world caused the threat of the Fifth Great Ninja War. While the ninja world is plunged into chaos, Boruto realizes a mysterious man, Merz, may be behind it all.
Customization Mode
- A Ninja Storm first players can now acquire cosmetic customization items as battle rewards and can use them as apparel and style for characters and much more. The customization items players can earn all include:

- Character poses
- Accessories
- Stamps
- Home screen backgrounds

Free Battle
- VS Battle: Play offline 1P vs 2P battle.
- Survival: Play offline against a slew of NPC characters.
- Tournament: Play an offline tournament match with up to 8 players or against CPU characters.
- League: Play an offline league match with up to 4 players or against CPU characters.
- Practice: Available to practice Secret Techniques and other ninjas moves.
Network Battle
- Casual Match: You can play with randomly selected opponents online.
- Rank Match: You can play with more advanced and competitive players online according to your rank.
- Online Custom Matchmaking to be implemented post-launch.
Simple Control Mode
- A mode where controls are simplified and combos are automatically performed with a single button.
