If you frequently play Deadlock with a friend or two, you may want to start considering which heroes you are picking in order to get the best value in the laning phase. Good synergy between heroes in lane can provide incredible value and help you to win your lane more often, hopefully leading to more wins. So, here are our top five picks for lane duos in Deadlock.
The general idea of this lane is that you can put a lot of pressure on your opponent very early on. If Abrams gets in a bit too deep, Viscous can cube him and can provide good support fire with Splatter and Puddle Punch.
This lane can feel weak against ranged heroes that are good at keeping their distance, but can typically withstand the poke damage. Against any mid to close-range combinations, this duo feels very strong and well-rounded.
This one is a bit more on the memey side, but can still be maddening to deal with for opponents. Stay at range, poke, use Vindicta’s trap to set up big hits from Grey Talon, and get airborne if you are dove. Both also have deadly ultimates early on, which can help to snowball a lead and win your lane early.
This one is really fun, if nothing else to see how little presence you can have on the lane itself, while still providing a ton of harassment and damage from afar.

Sometimes you just want good balance in lane, and that is what this duo gets you. Seven provides great farming potential, a solid early-game DPS, and a great stun to set up a deadly Lash Ground Pound or ultimate. Lash often can struggle in lane, so pairing him with someone reliable like a Seven can help to get him scaling early and on his way to having a devastating late game.
All in all, look for high-value stuns, synergized burst damage, and sustain in this lane. Be aware that you are weak to some dives and high-pressure duos.
These two ultimates can all but guarantee a kill in the laning phase, but that isn’t all that this lane duo gets you. Paradox provides solid range and burst with Karbine, while Pocket can stay in closer and bail himself out with his escape tools. This allows for front and backline pressure to work together to oppress your enemy and try to claim their Guardian as early as possible.

This lane duo has become a favorite amongst Deadlock Fight Night teams who want to bully a lane early, and for good reason. Kelvin gives Shiv exactly what he needs to dominate the early game – heals and slows. This makes for an incredibly strong and sustained dive that comes at you and can be very hard to stop or counter.
If you and a friend are confident on these two heroes, we think this is the strongest lane combination currently in Deadlock.
