Gameplay is everything in College Football games, and we are hopeful that things can improve a bit in CFB 26. But, what exactly needs to change? We took our best stab at five changes we would love to see to gameplay in College Football 26.
I know I’m not the only one who has thrown 5+ INTs in a game (multiple times) and it has got to stop in College Football 26. I understand that this is a slider that can be adjusted, but defenders are simply too good at getting interceptions on higher difficulties, to the point where the realism takes a hit. If this were the one change made in CFB 26, I think you would have a lot of happy fans.
At higher levels of CFB 25, players will make tons of adjustments at the line of scrimmage to draw up a perfect cheesy verts pass, with little to no penalty for doing so. Occasionally maybe a False Start, sure, but what if these adjustments took considerably longer, especially in away game settings? For realism and preventing some of the more cheese plays, I think this could be a really nice change to pacing and punish players who abuse audibles.
It often feels like all linebackers play the same, the difference between an Improviser and a Scrambler can be minuscule, and there is nothing new under the sun. I’d love for unique archetypes to really mean something in CFB 26, allowing us to build really specific and targeted kinds of teams.

Ever won a game on a last-second TD and seen the same generic TD mascot animation afterward? Us too.
This is all too common and would be something that may not change gameplay itself, but it would significantly increase the quality of the things surrounding gameplay.
It feels like a lot of the same things happen in CFB 25 over and over again. WRs dropping deep balls, OL missing blocks, DBs catching every interception, and so on. College Football 26 could use a lot more variance in the kinds of outcomes for these plays, which should usually be more 50/50 kinds of plays than 90/10. It also would mimic college football as it really is, a highly volatile and unpredictable sport.
