The Washington Wizards and point guard Ish Smith have agreed on a two-year, $12 million contract according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Smith, 30, is a nine-year veteran who has experience on 10 different NBA teams. He posted 8.9 points and 3.6 assists off the bench last season off the bench for the Pistons.
The Wizards will likely be without John Wall for some time and needed to bolster their point guard depth, necessitating the move for Smith. This is especially true after the Wizards completed a sign and trade deal with the Bulls earlier in free agency.
