Silvio De Sousa Ruled Eligible for 2019-2020 Season by NCAA

The NCAA has announced on Friday that Kansas big man Silvio De Sousa will be eligible for the 2019-2020 season.

De Sousa sat out last season due to the FBI investigation into college basketball. Adidas rep T.J. Gassnola incriminated De Sousa’s guardian during testimony, which is why he was held out of competition for the 2018-2019 season.

While he awaited a decision from the NCAA on his appeal to be eligible, De Sousa entered the 2019 NBA Draft. He said that he would return to school if he was eligible for the season.

As a freshman in 2017-2018, De Sousa played a key role of the bench for the Jayhawks, averaging 4.0 points and 3.7 rebounds per game.
