Senzel was already rumored to be coming up to the bigs on Friday, but this all but confirms it.
The 24-year-old is the number five overall prospect in all of baseball according to mlb.com. He has batted .313 in his minor league career in 238 games.
The University of Tennessee product was drafted in 2016 as an infielder, but has been practicing playing the outfield. He is expected to help in centerfield for the Reds, as the infield positions are set when the team is healthy. He will presumably take over for Scott Schebler in centerfield, as Schebler has a .135 batting average this season.
Senzel is expected to join the team Friday for their weekend series against the Giants in Cincinnati.
