NFL Week 7 Picks

The NFL season is already full of surprises, which makes it hard to pick winners. Cecil Walker and Joe DiTullio, of The Third and the Don Football Show, will do their best to try to predict the winners for every NFL game this season. Here are the NFL week 7 picks.

Thursday Night: Denver Broncos at Arizona Cardinals

Joe- Denver is on a four-game losing streak, but the Cardinals won’t pose much of a problem unless Case Keenum throws the game away. The Broncos have a weak secondary, but rookie quarterback Josh Rosen won’t be able to take advantage of that.- Broncos

Cecil- The Broncos have not looked good at all as Case Keenum continues to struggle. They will need to rely heavily on the run in order to win. However, this is a game that David Johnson could really go off. If that happens the Broncos won’t be able to keep up – Cardinals

Sunday: Tennessee Titans at Los Angeles Chargers (in London)

Joe- Can Tennessee block anyone? They allowed 11 sacks in their game against the Ravens. The Chargers will look like Bobby Boucher in Waterboy attacking the Titans’ offense. Philip Rivers and Melvin Gordon will do enough after that to win the game.-Chargers

Cecil Let’s be honest. Anything can happen in these London games considering both teams will still be asleep until the second half. The Chargers would win hands down if it was anywhere else. but it will be a lot closer with a slow start paired with a surprisingly good Titans’ defense. – Chargers

New England Patriots at Chicago Bears

Joe-The Bears just lost to Brock Osweiler…enough said. New England is seemingly revving up the offense for the end of the year.-Patriots

Cecil- Belichick always excels against younger quarterbacks and almost managed to stop the high-powered Chiefs. Turbisky will struggle in this one as the Patriots continue to improve. -Patriots

Buffalo Bills at Indianapolis Colts

Joe-Josh Allen is out, which means Nathan Peterman, or Derek Anderson, will be starting. Neither quarterback can score a win on the road in Indianapolis. The Colts are bad, but can focus on just stopping the run.-Colts

Cecil- Josh Allen was the Bills only bright spot and he is out for this one. Andrew Luck tends to do well in the dome and will do enough to keep the Colts in control. -Colts

Detroit Lions at Miami Dolphins

Joe-Are the Dolphins actually good? A 4-2 record looks good, but Osweiler could start again in this game. Detroit has the better quarterback (obviously) and therefore will win the game- Lions

Cecil- I have no idea which teams we will see on the field Sunday. These teams are the definition of mediocre with their inconsistent play. That said, I have to go with the team with more talent on its roster.- Lions

Minnesota Vikings at New York Jets

Joe- The Jets have looked better than expected this year, but the Vikings will win this game due to their offense. With or without Dalving Cook.- Vikings

Cecil- Vikings all the way! The Jets may keep it together for a half, but Kirk Cousins will throw 40 times if needed as Theilen and Diggs exploit a weak Jets defense.-Vikings

Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles

Joe- Philadelphia has been banged up to start the year and that likely won’t change going forward. Carson Wentz is starting to regain his from last season, which is scary. This will be a close win for the Eagles.-Eagles

Cecil- The Panthers have looked like the better team this season. The Eagles are starting to improve, but the Cam Newton and Christian McCafferty tag team will prove to be too much.-Panthers

Cleveland Browns at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Joe- Jameis Winston looked good in his debut start of 2018. He has the talent around him and with the Browns, defense struggling, should be able to do some damage.-Buccaneers

Cecil- I have to go with the hot hand of Jameis Winston in this one. If he plays anything like last week, the Browns won’t be able to keep up. Especially without Baker Mayfield.- Buccaneers

Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars

Joe- Bill O’Brien’s red zone offense is atrocious. He is as bad at making decisions as Fredo from The Godfather. Jacksonville’s defense is struggling, but the Texans arguably get worse the closer they get to the end zone.- Jaguars

Cecil- The Jags have played very well against divisional foes over the last few seasons. Deshaun Watson is going to get beat up in this one. -Jaguars

New Orleans Saints at Baltimore Ravens

Joe-The Ravens’ defense looks good, but the Saints look like they are on the path to a Super Bowl. With Mark Ingram back, they can keep everyone fresh in the backfield and Brees can light up the Baltimore secondary.- Saints

Cecil- I trust Drew Brees and company to get it done against a tough Ravens defense. I do not trust Joe Flacco and his group of No. 2 receivers to be able to accomplish enough. Alex Collins should have a good game though.- Saints

Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers

Joe- Well, the 49ers played the Packers tough, but the Rams are a way more complete team. Jared Goff will have a banged up receiving core, but that shouldn’t change the outcome of this game. -Rams

Cecil- The Rams are the best team we’ve seen so far this season. The 49ers showed some life last week, but this is a completely different animal. -Rams

Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins

Joe- Both of these teams are hard to figure out. At times they seemed as confused as the characters in The Hangover when they are trying to find Doug. The Cowboys beat the Jaguars, with a terrible offense. Washington gets destroyed by the Saints, then beats the Panthers. Dallas seemingly has their offense figured out and should be able to win a close game.- Cowboys

Cecil- I like the Redskins’ strategy this season. Run the ball with Adrian Peterson and have Alex Smith protect it. Meanwhile, their underrated defense continues to make stops. The Cowboys can’t put together two good performances in a row unless Ezekiel Elliott can get established early against the stout Redskins’ run defense.- Redskins

Cincinnati Bengals at Kansas City Chiefs

Joe- The Chiefs have some vulnerability on defense that was exposed by the Patriots. Cincinnati does not have the fire-power, nor the defense to beat the Chiefs, especially in Arrowhead Stadium.- Chiefs

Cecil- The Bengals are coming off a heartbreaking loss and sustained multiple injuries to their secondary. The Bengals will score some points, but they are simply outgunned by the Chiefs’ electric offense. Chiefs

New York Giants at Atlanta Falcons

Joe- Odell Beckham Jr., much like Rod Tidwell in Jerry Maguire, has gotten management to show him the money. Now management wants him to shut up and play. The locker room is falling apart. It will be a shootout, but the Falcons will win.- Falcons

Cecil- The Falcons should win easily as they will continue to light up the scoreboard. They just need to contain Saquon Barkley as Eli Manning will be unable to make plays downfield. -Falcons
