The Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to re-sign center JaVale McGee and guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope to two-year deals. Both deals were first reported by ESPN’s Ramona Shelbourne.
McGee, 31, averaged 12.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game for the Lakers last season. He will likely start at center for the Lakers next season, if they choose to start someone at the position. Anthony Davis has made it clear that he doesn’t want to be a center, so McGee should help keep Davis happy.
Caldwell-Pope is a 26-year-old guard, who averaged 11.6 points per game last season. He also shot 34.7 percent from deep. With LeBron James and Davis, Caldwell-Pope will need to help space the floor for the Lakers.
