In a statement addressing the departure of Kevin Durant, Co-Chairman and CEO Joe Lacob said no one will wear the number 35 as long as he is in charge.
Lacob thanked Durant in the statement as well. Durant won two championships with the Warriors in his three seasons with the team. After trying to come back from injury in the NBA Finals, Durant ruptured his Achilles, as the Warriors lost to the Raptors.
Durant decided to leave the Warriors and sign with the Nets in free agency on Sunday night.
