
Julius Thomas penned a
letter in the Player’s Tribune
that announced his retirement from the NFL. The unrestricted free agent will now pursue a Ph.D. in Psychology to further study Brain trauma.
From his letter:
And that’s a big part of why I’ve decided to go back to school.
These are the things I’ll be learning and working on over the next year as I begin to pursue a doctorate in psychology.
Thomas played seven NFL seasons for three NFL teams. He started his career in Denver and played for four seasons. He was part of the Bronco’s Super Bowl 50 team that featured Peyton Manning.
After Denver, Thomas spent two seasons in Jacksonville and one in Miami. He was cut by the Dolphins in March of this year and was not signed by any other team.
He finishes his career with 226 receptions, 2,2406 yards and 36 touchdowns. Thomas made the Pro Bowl in 2013 and 2014.
