Joe Flacco Traded to the Denver Broncos

A trade that will send Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco to Denver has been agreed upon in principle according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

As mentioned by Schefter, the trade can’t be officially processed until the league year begins on March 13.

Details of the trade, other than Flacco going to Denver, have not yet been reported. Schefter surmised that it could be a mid-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Flacco, 34, was a starter for the Ravens since his rookie year in 2008. He led the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory following the 2012 season. The Ravens elected to start Lamar Jackson down the stretch, even when Flacco was healthy, making him expendable for the franchise.  In his career, he has thrown for 38,245 yards, 212 touchdowns and 135 interceptions on 61.2% completion.

Denver signed Case Keenum last offseason to a two-year contract. Keenum was unable to play as well as he did for the Vikings in 2017 for the Broncos and the team failed to make the playoffs with a 6-10 record. With the addition of Flacco and a new head coach in Vic Fangio, the Broncos will be looking to get back into the playoffs.
