Jeffery Simmons Reportedly Tears ACL While Training for NFL Draft

Jeffery Simmons, a projected top-15 pick in the upcoming 2019 NFL Draft, reportedly suffered a knee injury while training according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen and Adama Schefter.

Simmons is one of the many talented defensive tackles in this draft class. The injury will likely hurt his draft stock, as Simmons already wasn’t invited to the 2019 NFL Combine due to a physical altercation with a woman in 2016.

In his career at Mississippi State, Simmons had 163 total tackles, 33 tackles for loss, seven sacks, seven passes defended, two fumble recoveries, five fumbles forced and one touchdown scored.
