The Denver Nuggets and guard Jamal Murray have agreed to a five-year, $170 million contract extension according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Murray was the first round pick, number seven overall, for the Nuggets out of Kentucky in the 2016 NBA Draft. Since then his game has developed and Murray has blossomed into a great player for the franchise.
The 22-year-old averaged 18.2 points and 4.8 assists per game last season. His play helped the Nuggets get the second seed in the Western Conference.
Now that Murray has a new deal, the Nuggets are set for the future. They now have Murray and star center Nikola Jokic locked up with long-term deals, as they look to continue building their contending team out west.
