Jaguars to Release Malik Jackson

Malik Jackson has been informed that he will be released by the Jacksonville Jaguars as early as today according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

Jackson, 29, was given a six-year $85.5 million deal with $31.5 million guaranteed after the 2015 season with the Broncos.

Over his three seasons with the Jaguars, he logged 18 sacks and 28 tackles for loss.  He played in all 16 games for Jacksonville last season, but started just 10 games, getting just 3.5 sacks and seven tackles for loss.

The Jaguars explored trading Jackson, but could not find any trade partners.
