Bethea, 34, is a 13-year veteran who has spent time with the Colts, 49ers and Cardinals. He won a Super Bowl with Indianapolis and has made the Pro Bowl three times. In his career, Bethea has 1,223 total tackles, 75 passes defended and 24 interceptions.
The Giants lost star safety Landon Collins already in free agency and were in need of help for the backend of their defense. They allowed 4,044 passing yards last season, which ranked 23rd overall.
