Free agent defensive tackle Gerald McCoy has decided to stay in the NFC South and sign with the Carolina Panthers according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

McCoy’s contract is likely to be for one year and around $8 million.

The veteran defensive tackle is a six-time Pro Bowler and is 31 years old. He spent his entire nine-year career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McCoy will get to play his former team at least twice next season.
McCoy has 79 tackles for loss and 54.5 sacks in his career.
