The Los Angeles Lakers missed out on Kawhi Leonard, but agreed to a deal with his former teammate, Danny Green. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report that it will be a two-year, $15 million deal.
Green, 32, has experience playing in big games for the Raptors and Spurs, but also played a season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He has averaged 9.0 points per game and shoots 40.4 percent from deep.
After the Lakers didn’t sign Leonard, they needed to surround LeBron James and Anthony Davis with shooters. Green will help spread the floor for the two stars and could be a valuable asset in the playoffs if a big shot from behind-the-arc is needed.
